Invitation to Prayer on Saturday

August 28, 2008

Dear Friends,

This invitation requests that you join me, and many others
around the world, in prayer on Saturday, August 30th. This
is an auspicious day for the Tibetan people who are asking
the world to join them in their special intentions to
purify the negative actions of all beings, endow His
Holiness the Dalai Lama with health and strength, and to
ease conflicts, diseases, suffering, and natural calamities
in our world.

To view a more involved description of the Tibetan's
intentions, the observances of the day, and to learn
details of how to participate according to you
capabilities, please use the following URL:
http://www.tibet.net/en/prelease/2008/140808.html

I will be dividing the day into three quarters of 4 hours
each, dedicating each of these segments to pray the
following three prayers, which are among the prayers
requested by the Tibetans for this day:

7 a.m. to 11 a.m. OM MANI PADME HOOM

11 a.m. to 3 p.m GURU PRAYERS. The Tibetans have their
tradition contexted guru prayers, which they ask their
communities to pray. I, however, will be sharing the Guru
Stotram from the Indian tradition, which will be
interpreted universally and addressed to the guru principle
within each of us and in all the circumstances of life
rather than any individual.

3 p.m. to 7 p.m. PRAISES TO THE 21 TARAS

More information will posted on the home page of my website
www.russillpaul.com on Saturday, August 30th. I look
forward to you joining me.

You may of course join other groups, plan a group of your
own, or just pray on your own. You will find all the
information you need on www.tibet.net.

In One Spirit,

Russill
